Fire officials say a child playing with a lighter caused an apartment fire in Windsor this Monday morning.
The blaze happened about 10 this morning on 1075 Old Route 17 in the Town of Windsor. Companies from Deposit, Windsor, West Windsor, Oquaga, Harpursville, and Five Mile Point
responded. Firefighters say all the residents were out of the home when they arrived and that the fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes.
Tom Lias, third assistant chief of Windsor Fire Department said, "On arrival we had flame shown from the side of the building, lower level extending up to the second floor."
According to Lias a Deposit Firefighter did suffer a slight injury under his eye.
