Town of Union and Village of Johnson City Justice Richard Miller is making another run at becoming a Broome County family court judge. Miller made his announcement in Endwell today.
The republican judge lost a bid for the family court post in 2004. He says his 18 years on the bench make him qualified to deal with the challenging cases that come before the family court bench.
"Over the years I've seen many people who have lost their way. They didn't have someone there to mentor them or guide them. That, in turn, has effected them and the choices they have made in life. Everyone of us needs someone to go to in life," said Miller.
Miller is one of four candidates vying for two seats this November. Fellow Republican Mark Young is running, as are democrats Daniel D. Reynolds and Pete Charnetsky. Charnetsky is currently a family court judge.
