PA Accident Leaves Teen Dead
7/20/2014 (Updated 7/21/2014 9:48:51 AM)A car accident in Wilmot Township, Pennsylvania left a 16-year-old boy from Sugar Run dead yesterday morning.
The teen was a passenger in a 1986 Chevrolet pickup truck that was travelling on Morris Road. The driver, a 17-year-old from Sugar Run, lost control of the vehicle going around a curve, hit a stone wall, and flipped the truck. the driver was ejected from the vehicle while the 16-year-old and another passenger, 18-years-old, were trapped inside the car.
Both the driver and the 18-year-old sustained moderate injuries and were airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say none of the teens were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Police also believe speed and alcohol were both contributing factors to the accident.
