B-Mets All Star Quartet can't lead East to victory
7/16/2014 (Updated 10:53:58 PM)ALTOONA, PA -- The 2014 All Star Stop saw just about everything as the Western Division took the win 5-2 over their Eastern Division rivals. B-Mets Kyle Johnson, Brian Burgamy, Jon Velasquez, and Cody Satterwhite all made appearances in the game. Johnson got the start in centerfield for the East, and went 2-2 with two singles and a stolen base. Cody Satterwhite pitched 0.2 innings striking out both batters he faced.
But the same success was not to be had for all four B-Mets. Brian Burgamy struck out in his only at bat and Jon Velasquez pitched the third inning giving up one hit and one run, but registering a strikeout.
The big blow for the West came in the 5th inning as Steven Moya of the Erie Sea Wolves hit a grand slam to right field to five the West a 5-1 lead which ended up being the difference in the game.
The Binghamton Mets return home Thursday night to kick off the second half of the season for the Subway Series North against the Double-A Yankees, Trenton Thunder.
