The first day of classes at Binghamton University will be here soon enough and orientation for freshmen and transfer students is underway.
Incoming students have the chance to find their way around campus, meet fellow classmates, and even spend the night in a dorm! Organizers say this is a way for the students to feel comfortable on campus before they start their classes in the fall.
Betsy Staff, Coordinator for New Student Programs, said " It's great to see them actually here and on campus and having all of those questions answered for them. It's an even more interesting experience to see them come back in the fall and see the relief in their faces. They might be a little nervous this morning, but by the time they get here in August, they're ready to be here."

Mayor David announced today that the City of Binghamton has officially received and reviewed Coughlin & Gerhart's independent third party review of the Binghamton Police Department.
The City hired the law firm in March to review the department's policies and procedures and determine if discrimination, harassment or retaliation is occurring.
