Eric Young Jr. ends his rehab with the B-Mets Sunday

New York Mets left fielder Eric Young Jr. played in left today and New York Mets Beat Writer Adam Rubin tweeted after the Mets 3-1 win over the Padres that manager Terry Collins expects Eric to return to the team tomorrow in St. Louis for their three game stint with the Cardinals.

The left fielder did score a run and walked on Sunday but struggled in his rehab to get on base. He went 0-9 at the plate during his time with the B-Mets but on the other hand, the big league Mets are missing their speed guy and lead off bat and that's why Eric came to Binghamton to work out all of those kinks before Monday's big series.

"Of course you want to get back up there and help as soon as possible but speed is a big part of my game and if I rush it up there and I am not 100 percent, I am not going to help out anyways because I am not running at top speed. I definitely want to get up there and help  but more importantly I have to get back so I can do what I am capable of doing," said Eric Young Jr.

The Mets are still without Juan Lagares in Center Field and not having that speed on the bases has hurt this team scoring runs the past few weeks during their losing streak.
