The Brown Bag Lunch Series Kicks Off Summer Season

"You bring your lunch, we'll bring the music!"

That's the slogan of the ever popular "Brown Bag Lunch Series" which kicked off it's summer season on Collier Street  in downtown Binghamton Friday afternoon.  Attendees enjoyed a farmers market as well as a concert featuring the band "Ramble Run". Farmers market Committee Chairman Eric Denk says the weekly event gives  people new experiences when buying locally grown produce

"Increasingly I hear of people who express interest in where their food comes from.  And here you can buy food from the person who grew it.  And you can talk to that person about their farming practices and you can feel good about what you eat," said Eric Denk,Chair of the Farmer's Market Committee in Binghamton.

The Brown Bag Lunch Series will continue for the remainder of the summer on Collier Street downtown.  Next week's concert will feature the "Basin Street Jazz Band.
