Mom's House Graduation
6/5/2014 (Updated 10:57:06 PM)While many graduates will look to forward to receiving their diploma, for five woman, graduating had a much deeper meaning.
Mom's House held it's annual graduation ceremony for five woman who have been in the program, including four graduates of SUNY Broome, and one soon to be graduate from Johnson City High School. Graduates shared testimonies of their time at Mom's House and directors say seeing the families leave is a bittersweet experience.
"We feel like family here at here at mom's house and so we feel like it's one of our children going off to school. So it's exciting and very rewarding," said Laura Bowen, Executive Director of Mom's House.
Moms house was originally founded in Endicott over 20 years ago and aims to help single mothers through education. Anyone interested in speaking with a representative from Mom's house is invited to visit their location on Harry L. Drive in Johnson City.
