Spartans field to close during light installation

ENDWELL -- The Maine-Endwell School District will close its High School athletic facilities during the installation of lights at the multi-purpose stadium.

Work is slated to begin sometime after June 23 until approximately Aug. 15. The High School athletic stadium and track will close when work begins and will remain closed until the project is completed. The tennis courts will remain open to the public.

The parking areas near the stadium and the baseball field may be closed intermittently as needed. The district will post additional information about the closings on the district website as it become available.

The stadium lighting, along with the districtís new turf baseball stadium, is a gift from Thomas and Alba Tull. Thomas is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Legendary Entertainment, as well as part owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is a graduate of the Maine-Endwell Class of 1988.

The baseball stadium project was completed in March. The upcoming project includes the installation of stadium lights, poles and electric wiring.
