Driveway Paving Scams
6/3/2014 (Updated 10:45:36 PM)With summer on its way, many are looking to improve paving on their driveways--but New York's Better Business Bureau says beware.
Consumers in the upstate area have reported paving scams. salesmen going door to door will promise discount paving jobs, begin the process--only to find out they don't have enough materials, promise to come back the next day, and never return. Consumers are then left with a partially done job, when they've paid for more.
The Bureau says to watch out for anyone who pushes for a quick decision, requires cash only sales, or has an unmarked vehicle with out of state plates. a list of legitimate contractors can be found on bbb.org.
