Fracking Film Screened in Owego
5/29/2014 (Updated 11:01:57 PM)A new film about fossil fuels and fracking is making its way across the tier, and the East Coast, and made a stop in Owego this evening.
"Groundswell Rising" focuses on real-life stories of scientists, citizens, and those who say they have already felt the ill effects of fracking.
The producers call the film non-political, and say it accurately reflects the facts.
"This is something that we need to investigate further. We need to go out to the sites where it's happening and see it for ourselves even. Come out and talk to the people who are harmed. And you can listen to both sides if you want," said Vera Scroggins, Citizen Journalist.
The next screening of "Groundswell Rising" will be at Dickinson college in Carlisle, Pennsylvania on June 6th.
