Paddle Party Raises Funds for American Heart Association

Another success in terms of community support for the American Heart Association:
Tonight, there was a Paddle Party--with the paddles being used to bid on auction items--which raised 400 dollars for the cause.
"It was successful, we always strive to get more and more people and as people started understanding what quarter auctions are for and that we do it for the community and we're finding more and more people are joining the events"
said Sandra Morris, event coordinator
The Paddle Party auction, with featured everything from tupperware to chocolate, was sponsored by Fox 40 and Security Mutual--at the Vestal United Methodist Church.
NCAA penalizes Syracuse Orange for multiple violations
As a result of the lengthy NCAA investigation, the Syracuse Orange, among other penalties, have been placed on probation for five years for ignoring the "most fundamental core values of the NCAA" for academic, drug, and other violations dating back to 2001. As a result of the investigation, Syracuse must vacate all men's basketball wins from games involving ineligible players from 2004-07 and 2010-2012.
