Animal Planet Star Visits BU Debate Team

Students at Binghamton University had a rare chance to debate alongside Animal Planet star Paul Watson.

Dozens gathered at the Double Tree in Binghamton for BU's final debate of the semester. This year's topic was advancing  environmental concerns and animal rights. Watson captained one team and focused on conservation and animal rights. Students say having him as a guest was a real gift for all the hard work they've put into the semester.

"It's really awe inspiring that he would take the time to come to Binghamton New York and recognize the things that we're doing with our debate program and say that this is worth while and awesome for us to really further education and awareness in order to participate and bring different ways and different tactics to be able to save the
environment," said Joe Leeson-Schatz, Director of Speech and Debate at BU.
