Endicott Policemen Honored for Exceptional Commitment to Community

You may notice policemen in Endicott sporting new badges on their uniforms.

That's because the Endicott Police Department hosted it's 6th year of an awards ceremony to reward officers for excellent work in the community. Some honors  included the Award Of Excellence which is given to officers who have exhibited great service through the year.

Police Chief Michael Cox says this event is important because it lets his crew know just how valuable they are.

"Unfortunately sometimes we forget to reward our own and whether we say it day in and day out, this is the opportunity we can hopefully make up for that when we don't say it day in and day out that we recognize what they're doing, and we really appreciate what they do," said Endicott Police Chief Michael Cox.

3 officers also were awarded for 25 years of service in the force.
