Carousel Horses Might Gallop Again

Horses on a carousel usually go round-and-round... but the horses from the Skyline Amusement Park haven't even ventured outside of a barn in Nichols since the 90's.

Well these stallions are getting another go-around in carousel business.

On Tuesday, the 1920's-era carousel was auctioned off at Mapes Auctioneers and Appraisers in Vestal  for a dizzy-ing thirty seven thousand, five hundred dollars.

The previous owner, Wendell Garrison say's he's just happy to herd this antique out of his garage.

"And I'm happy with it because I got rid of it," said seller Wendell Garrison.

"It's great. It's a great experience just to be able to get it off of his property and off of his mind so that he doesn't have to worry about where it is or what's being done with it," said W. Paul Garrison, the son of Wendell Garrison.

The new owner, Johnson City resident Mike Mckilligan, hasn't stated any plans he has yet for the amusement ride but he did say, "carousels are always great for kids- and people who are kids at heart."
