A camp-out and balloon launch Thursday night at SUNY Broome to remember a beloved professor who created an event that students hold close to their hearts.
It was the 4th Annual "Sleep Out for the Homeless" night, to help students understand what it's like for the hundreds that are homeless in our area.
Professor Wesley Warren's daughter Katelyn said her father instilled in her a responsibility to support the homeless and to be thankful for what she has.
"Like he said in previous years, people don't know how many people are really homeless in this community. It's a great experience just to show that yes, we need people to support the homeless. we need people to be here and just to come out and show your support and love," said Katelyn Warren, daughter of professor Warren.
Professor Wesley Warren created the event four years ago, when he discovered one of his students was homeless.
