VESTAL -- Six new freshmen will join the Binghamton University Bearcats, on top of the six freshmen from this season who will be sophomores next year. Tommy Dempsey knows that coaching a young team will be a challenge, but he's glad to have a more versatile and dynamic team like squads he's coached in the past.
One of those pieces is from right here in Upstate New York. John Schurman, currently a senior at Fayetteville-Manlius will call BU home for the next four years. Schurman gave Southern Tier basketball fans a glimpse of what he has to offer this past December when F-M played in the Mirabito Stop DWI Holiday Classic.
Demspey says he's excited to have Schurman join the roster and says he's one of the best high school shooters in the state.
