Boy Hit by Car

A nine year old boy escaped serious injury Tuesday after being struck by a car  at Hazel and Glennwood around three o'clock in the afternoon:
 
Binghamton Police tell us the youngster was crossing the street in a crosswalk, when a woman driving a car turned left onto Hazel Stree from Glenwood.Avenue.

She told police she did not see the boy, who ran off after he was struck.

Binghamton detectives say when the boy got home, his mother had him treated at Wilson hospital, for a swollen lip, bloody nose and hip pain.

The driver was cited for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk, and Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident.
