Lyme Disease Awareness for Warm Weather Months
4/11/2014 (Updated 10:53:32 PM)Weather is warming up and that means you and your pets will be spending more time outside.
It also means that you need to be aware of Lyme Disease and how to protect yourself.
Officials from the Broome County Health Department say you should wear light colored clothing to spot ticks, and try to tuck your pants into your socks and your shirt into your pants.
They also suggest people wear bug spray with Deet and that you can get flea and tick prevention for your pets because they can suffer serious implications if they are infected with Lyme Disease.
