Locals Enjoy the Warmer Weather
4/6/2014 (Updated 10:46:34 PM)With highs in the mid-50s today it seems as though spring has finally sprung. Area locals were out in full force today enjoying the nice weather.
The Vestal Rail Trail saw runners, bicyclists, and people walking their dogs in the sun today. Those who ventured out for some exercise today say they're excited to be able to start spending time outside again.
"Well the winter has been rough and it's nice to get out here in the warm weather. Especially on a weekend when we all have some time to spend with out families outside," said Vince Socci of Endicott.
"It feels fantastic. We've had one cold winter. That's for sure," said Virginia Nugent of Vestal.
"It's been amazing. I ran today on the Rail Trail and I literally have never seen so many people out here," said Eileen Hanrahan, who works at the Vestal Coal House Cafe.
The Rail Trail Will host professionally led workouts on the first Wednesday of every month beginning in May. There will also be a Run Wild 5K on May 24th to benefit the Ross Park Zoo.
