Members of the community gathered Thursday evening to honor seven Binghamton High-School graduates who have gone on to be successful in a number of different careers.
Among those who have distinguished careers include class of 1980 graduate Mark Cody, who is the head coach of Oklahoma University's wrestling team, a posthumous honor for Sergeant Lawrence Peters, medal of honor recipient, and Angel Desai, a singer-actor who has appeared in many Hollywood films and nationally televised network shows. She talked about how Binghamton shaped her as an individual.
"I think what was great about it was that I had to really work to find the things that I love to do. And what was great about the High-School was that it gave me so many opportunities to flex all of my different artistic muscles I have," said Angel Desai, New York City based Singer/Actor.
Students of the high-school helped with the event, and say they too hope to one day be where these individuals are standing.
