NY Consumer Sentiment Down for Second Straight Month

Consumer sentiment in New York State is down for the second month in a row, this according to a poll by the Siena Research Institute.
   
The survey says sentiment dropped 2.4 points in March. According to Siena the willingness of consumers to spend is below breakeven and the index for every demographic group is lower than at this point a year ago.

Concern over gas prices jumped six percentage points in march to 57 percent. worries over the cost of groceries shot up five points to 68 percent.
