Restaurant Week Starts in Binghamton

Well, if you were hungry and in Binghamton Tuesday, you were in luck. Tuesday kicked off the city's 9th restaurant week.

Restaurants across Binghamton like Zona and Co Grille at 15 Hawley Street are offering one of a kind meals to showcase its cuisine.
Zona's is offering everything from a gluten free vegetarian black bean soup to lobster mac and cheese.

A portion of the proceeds from each meal goes to benefit VINES, a program that works of developing a more sustainable food system in the community.

"It's a total win, win for the restaurants and the community trying out new foods, restaurants that you haven't had before. So it's a great opportunity to get out there and go to a restaurant you probably wouldn't otherwise be able to afford a 3 course meal at," said Scott Springer, line cook at Zona & Co. Grille.

A portion of the proceeds from Restaurant Week will also go to the Boys and Girls Club of Binghamton. Zona is serving it's 3-course lunch for 10 dollars, and dinner for 20.
