Senate Bill Would Require DWI Checks in Serious Accidents

The New York Senate is trying to give law enforcers another tool to detect and properly punish drunk drivers:
It has passed a bill that would require chemical tests to be performed on a driver when there is an accident involving serious personal injury or death, when it is reasonably believed that the driver was under the influence.
Right now, such tests are at the discretion of the police.
And what's more, it would allow the accident’s occurrence itself, to be sufficient for establishing reasonable cause.
Pennsylvania State Police Have Frein In Custody
Pennsylvania State Police have confirmed that they have Eric Frein in custody.
Frein is suspected of committing the ambush shooting at the Blooming Grove Barracks which killed one trooper and injured another on September 12th.
