A Smoother Ride For Vestal Parkway Commuters?
3/23/2014 (Updated 10:29:28 PM)Those who travel using the Vestal Parkway could be looking at smoother driving in the near future.
Plans have been announced that paving will start on route 434 beginning this spring. The project will mill down the current pavement and put a new course top over it. The Department of Transportation hopes to minimize delays by doing all of the repairs at night.
"Definitely improve the riding surface on 434. And we're going to do our best to do that work while the traffic volumes are low. And so we're quite pleased to be able to do that work," said Jack Williams, Regional Director of Region 9, NYS DOT.
Williams says he's excited that the DOT is able to upgrade this frequently traveled roadway with little impact to commuters.
