Binghamton's Parade Day Right Around the Corner

Binghamton's 47th St. Patrick's Day Parade is right around the corner and everyone is already getting anxious to celebrate.

The theme of the parade this Saturday is "Irish Traditions." Twelve fire departments, eight floats, six pipe bands and four dance groups will march from the corner of Court and Fayette Streets at 1:30pm to the corner of Main and Arthur Streets.

Mayor Rich David said the city already has a plan in place to keep the roads
clean and the celebrations safe.

"We have literally people that come to Binghamton from across the state and the north east to join in this celebration. It's important that the city put its best foot forward," the Mayor said.

Maureen and Hugh Reynolds will serve as the parade's grand marshall couple. Chenango Valley senior Courtney Fitzgerald is this year's Maid of Erin.

A mass will be held before the parade at 11:30 at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church.
