Anti-Frackers want Astorino to Test Water

If you think it's so safe and clean, why don't you drink it?

That's what anti-frackers are challenging Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino to do while taking a tour of Pennsylvania and seeing the effects that gas drilling has had in that state. Astorino is expected to soon announce his candidacy for governor of New York:

Today, Citizen Action and members of other anti-fracking groups held up water that they say has come from areas that have been fracked.

They say Astorino--who should drink it--has been touting fracking as an economic boom for Pennsylvania and other states:

"I think that we certainly want to encourage him to actually take a tour of Pennsylvania and speak to the people who have contaminated water and sample it if he thinks that it's okay," said Aubrey Clark a member of Vestal Residents for Safe Energy.

Astorino will be in Binghamton on Friday for a fundraiser at the Riverwalk Hotel. Members of Citizen Action say they will be holding an anti-fracking rally outside the Riverwalk during Astorino's appearance.
