Bereszniewicz earns Player of the Week Honors

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton senior outfielder Bill Bereszniewicz has been named the America East Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Bereszniewicz led the Bearcats to a pair of wins in a four-game set at James Madison. He hit .429 (6-for-14) with four extra-base hits and four stolen bases. He went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBI in BUs opening 12-2 win on Friday. He then added three combined hits, three stolen bases and three runs scored in the final two games of the series. In the outfield, Bereszniewicz recorded 11 putouts and didnt commit an error in center. For the second straight series, he also produced a highlight-reel diving catch to deny an extra-base hit and run scored.

Early this spring, Bereszniewicz is hitting .346 with a team-high six RBI and a .469 on-base percentage.

The Bearcats travel to Athens for a three-game weekend series with SEC member Georgia.
