Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger gave his State of the University address today on campus.
His main concern? Enrollment growth. By 2020 Stenger hopes to increase the student population to 20,000. Stenger also hopes that they can see that growth at the graduate level. This would also mean more student housing...
"We anticipate as we grow we're going to be growing at the graduate level, most of those students are going to want to live off campus. Many of them may have families and they might not want to live in just a room inside of a housing complex. So we anticipate that the developers will take the opportunity to build new kinds of housing for graduate students," said Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger.
With the projected student growth, the university will be able to hire more than 150 new faculty and staff.
