Saturday night, B-Sens fans will see a familiar face on the ice. Former captain Denis Hamel will be inducted into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fams as the sole member of the Class of 2014.
In two stints with the B-Sens from 2003-06 and 2007-10, Hamel registered for goals with 203 and points with 392. Hamel also scored 56 goals in the 2005-06 season, a team record.
Hamel came into town a few days early to catch up with fans who have become close friends over the years. He says that Binghamton has always had the best fans in the league and he couldn't be more honored to be inducted into the Binghamton Hockey Hall of Fame, especially so soon after retiring from the AHL.
