Discovery Center to Hold MLK Celebration Tomorrow

Tomorrow people across the country will celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. His famous speech may have happened more than 50 years ago but today children  are still learning about the event that made history.

The Discovery Center in Binghamton will be holding events for kids and adults to commemorate King. There will be crafts, a puppet show, and even a peace march throughout the museum. Educators say people need to remember what Martin Luther King accomplished.

"It's very important to teach children this because although it happened over 50 years ago, it's still relevant today. Because it's part of our freedoms. We hope that everyone will be able to attend tomorrow with the special events and it'll be a great learning experience for kids and adults," said Gerald Terela, Gallery Manager.

The events will take place between 11AM and 3PM. Children and adults are all invited.
