Grants To Help Provide More Internet Access In Southern Tier

Internet access is on the way for unserved Upstate New Yorkers.

Governor Cuomo announced Friday 14.5 million dollars in Broadband Grants that will support support 9 projects.  Those projects will expand internet services for nearly 30,000 residents and 2,000 businesses in Upstate New York. Over 672,000 dollars of that money will go to the Southern Tier West Development Foundation.

This is the first of the funds approved from the Governor's 25 million dollar Connect New York Broadband Grant Program and the Regional Economic Development Awards.  The goal is to connect more than half-a-million unserved or underserved New Yorkers across the state.
