State Prison, Correction Executives Will Lose Company Cars
11/29/2013 (Updated 10:46:20 PM)The heads of every state prison and over a dozen other corrections executives have been stripped of their company cars.
State Inspector General Catherine Leahy Scott investigated the Department of Corrections' use of taxpayer paid vehicles. She released those findings Friday.
She found little evidence that agency vehicles were used to respond to on-the-job emergencies. She also found the agency flat out ignored a 2009 order that specific individuals could no longer be assigned agency vehicles.
The department has immediately put a list of Leahy Scott's recommendations in place.
