Bearcats just want to win

It's no secret that the Binghamton University Bearcats basketball program has been going through a bit of a rough patch since the end of the now infamous 2009 season.  But with Tommy Dempsey at they helm, things seem to be headed in the right direction.  Standout freshmen Jordan Reed is now a sophomore with experience beyond his years, and two freshmen from this year, Nick Madray and Magnus Richards have been named America East Rookie of the Week.  Madray earned the honors in week one, and Richards, just this week.  But where are all the wins?

Dempsey says he hopes they're right around the corner.  The W's will certainly be on their way, but the sooner, the better.  According to Dempsey, when his boys have the lead, they're still clock watching, waiting for the time to tick away so that they come out on top.  That, however, leads to distracted play and loss of aggressiveness, as was the case on Saturday against Radford.  The Bearcats held the lead with around ten minutes to play before the Highlanders took it away and never gave it back, beating the Bearcats by six.

The losses tend to take a toll on a players psyche and confidence, especially for younger players who are too used to celebrating at the end of the game.
