Tioga County Historical Society Holds Annual Tannenbaum Fundraiser

The Tioga County Historical Society is holding their 11th Annual O Tannenbaum Fundraiser just in time to buy holiday decorations for a good cause. The auction kicked off last weekend.

More than 150 auction items are up for bid at the Tioga County Historical Society Museum.  It's their largest fundraiser of the year. Visitors are able to bid on items such as Christmas Trees, wreaths and gift certificates. All proceeds go to  the benefit the museum's programs and operating costs.

"And actually it will allow us to do some programming which is very important because next year is our 100th anniversary of the society. So we'd like to get as much programming and as many displays up as possible," said Kevin Lentz, Executive Director.

The exhibit and bidding is open through December 14th.  Organizers are expecting more than a thousand total visitors, and are hoping to raise more than 18 thousand dollars.
