Two Weekend DWI Arrests in Broome County
11/11/2013 (Updated 10:52:46 PM)Broome County Sheriff's Office made two DWI arrests over the weekend.
On Sunday, Deputy Daviel Thomas pulled over 37-year-old James Tuttle, Jr, of Rt. 79, Harpursville. Police say Tuttle was traveling 30 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone, on Interstate 88.
After Tuttle was pulled over, deputies say his blood alcohol level was found to be .19%, or more than twice the legal limit.
Tuttle was charged with DWI-1st offense, Aggravated DWI, Speed Violation for driving too slowly, Unsafe Tires violation, Open Container of alcohol in vehicle, and moving from lane unsafely.
Tuttle was processed at the Broome County Jail, but was later released. He is set to appear in the Town of Colesville Court at a later date.
The other arrest happened on Hooper Road, in the Town of Union.
Sgt. Andrew Eggleston stopped 21-year-old Kimberly Papastrat of Bigelow Street, Binghamton, who was allegedly observed following another vehicle too closely.
Authorities say her blood alcohol level was .20%, or two and a half times the legal limit.
Papastrat has been charged with DWI, Aggravated DWI, and following too closely. She was processed at the Broome County Jail, and was later released. She is to appear in the Town of Union Court at a later date.
