Zombies Apocalypse in Owego

It was a scary sight in Tioga County Saturday when zombies invaded the streets of Owego.

The living dead came out to the Parkview Hotel and restaurant for Owego's first Zombie Fest complete with a thriller dance performance and zombie parade.

Organizers were very pleased with the support to have a zombie  apocalypse take place in their village.

"Overwhelming, really wonderful," said volunteer Wendy Post.

" We received phone calls all week long asking questions about it: where can they park, how early can they come, will there be food, can we go in the parade, can we dance. So it's been fun," said Beth Johnson, owner of Parkview Hotel.

This year's event was funded solely on the sale of t-shirts, food, and raffle tickets at the event. the festival was so successful that organizers are applying for a grant and already planning next year's event.
