Sunday was the second day of the Indian Cultural Center's 6th Annual "Durja Puja" Indian Festival in Vestal. The event kicked off with the performance of traditional Indian music, followed by the narration of a famous Indian story.
It also featured Indian food, and many other artistic traditions from various parts of India. While this was a festival focused on the Indian Culture, members say all were invited to join the experience.
"This is not limited to the Bengali speaking people of the South Indian Sub-Continent. Participants from all religions and all languages do come and join us to celebrate the occasion," said Dr. Utpal Roychowdhury, Coordinator of Events.
Members of the Indian community say their goal is to make primary focus of our culture.
