BU Fraternity Hosts Neighborhood Cleanup
10/5/2013 (Updated 10:59:39 PM)One Binghamton University fraternity spent their Saturday raking, weeding, and picking up trash.
The Theta Delta Chi house is in the neighborhood surrounding the Walnut St. Park. Each year the fraternity is required to do community service. After seeing trash on the streets around their house, many of the brothers wanted to make a change.
"We're trying to show strength and unity and coming out and supporting it today shows our mind set and that we're here to be positive and help the neighborhood and continue and try to improve," said Nicholas Kumelowski, Philanthropy Chair at TDX.
The fraternity plans to continue working in the community surrounding the park and has another event planned for November.
