Remembering The Twilight Zone 54 Years Later

He calls himself the son Rod Serling never had.

Arlen Schumer visited the Bundy Museum in Binghamton Wednesday to premiere his visual lecture "Westport in Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone."

The author, illustrator and lecturer has been studying Serling's works for years and has taken it upon himself to keep the Binghamton native's name and work alive.  Schumer currently lives in Westport where Serling spent three years of his life and his presentation shows how the time he spent in Connecticut influenced his works.

"The Twilight Zone is a branch of 20th century surrealism but it also predates the psychedelic era.  It was of its time and it's timeless which is the definition of a work of art," said Arlen Schumer, author of Visions From the Twilight Zone.

Wednesday marks the 54th anniversary of the premiere of the pilot episode for The Twilight Zone. Schumer will give his visual lecture at the Rod Serling conference in Los Angeles this November.
