New Life for Old Building

New life for an old downtown Binghamton building.

The Lackawana Train Station is being renovated and new tenants are ready to set up shop.  Many of the renovations are taking place on the second floor, where new  businesses should be about two weeks away from opening their doors.

The owner of one small business sees the building as a potential hub of creativity downtown.

"It's a beautiful building, easy access to downtown, the restaurants, and it has great parking. And I think it has a lot of character as I said, it fits my business," said Ewelina Zajac-Holdrege, owner of Holdrege Designs.

"Since the renovations a couple of people signed leases for their space and somehow word has gotten out via word of mouth and social media and other people have expressed interest and followed up by signing leases," said building co-owner Mark Yonaty.

The owners bought the building last year and began renovations earlier this year.
