State health care exchanges begin registrations

Tuesday was the first day you could sign up for State Health Care Exchanges thanks to the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare.
Mothers and Babies Network in Binghamton is one of 50 navigator agencies in the state to help people sign up for the New York Exchange.
There are a lot of questions about the exchange which can be found on line at NYStateofHealth.ny.gov.  Over a million people logged onto the state site today.  Mothers and Babies is one of the local agencies with people to help the uninsured sign up.

"They are prepared to be here to assist anyone who has questions about the process, those who don't have personal access to the internet or to a computer, or not aware of how to navigate the systems," said Sharon Chesna, Executive Director of Mothers and Babies.

"Over a million people in New York state are going to have the opportunity to shop for a reasonable health care plan. And many of them will have available credits to help offset the costs," said Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo.

If you have questions about the state exchange you can call Mothers and Babies at 772-0517.
