Saturday was a perfect day for golfing and people in the area came out to putt for charity.
The Genegantslet Golf Club in Greene hosted the 3rd Annual Tina Turner Golf Classic, Saturday. Thirty teams participated in the tournament raising money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Five women who helped organize the tournament will bring the donations to Atlanta in a few weeks for the foundation's three day, sixty mile walk.
"It's amazing how much closer it brings you. That you can actually experience that with a group of your best friends. We're healthy and we're walking. And there are people out there who are still fighting, and they're walking," said Shelly Howell.
Each of the five women have already raised more than the $2,400 required to participate in the walk.
