Local Officials Rally Behind Current JC Village Mayor

Local officials rallied to show their support for a man who has lived in Johnson City all his life to remain in the Villages top position.
The group came out Wednesday to urge residents to re-elect Republican Greg Deemie. He said what he's done over the past four years is just the beginning of what he has planned.
He says the largest problem the Village faces is blight.
"I'm working with code. I want to get code officers in the Village again, at least some full time people here that can address what we have going on here directly. Even if it's still running out of the Town of Union, I don't have a problem with that but I want to get people full time here," said Mayor Deemie.
Deemie will face democrat Barrett Esworthy in November.
