Jaclyn Wesley Found Guilty of Vehicular Manslaughter

A verdict in the trial of a Binghamton woman charged with causing a triple-fatal car crash in May 2011:

Jaclyn Wesley was found guilty of three counts of Vehicular Manslaughter, Driving Under the Influence, and Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content over the Legal Limit.

In May of 2011, Wesley drove off of Route 88 in the Town of Fenton crashing her vehicle into the Chenango River.

Passengers Carri Michalski, Robert Marshall, and Robert Moorehead III all lost their lives. Wesley was the only survivor. Families of the victims say they are happy and relieved by the outcome.

"It helps a little. It's not gonna, like you said in the beginning, it's not gonna bring him back. But it could, the wound is never gonna go away. It's always gonna be there and scarred," said Robert Moorehead Jr., father of victim Robert Moorehead III.

"She needs to pay for what she did. She just took so much away from us. My heart is just broke," said Kathy Moore, mother of victim Carri Michalski.

There is no mandatory minimum sentence for the charges brought against Wesley. The sentencing will be held on January seventh.
