NEW YORK -- With the news of Ruben Tejada's broken leg, Wilfredo Tovar has been called up to the Mets.
Manager Terry Collins said he will platoon Tovar with Omar Quintanilla and the shortstop will definitely get some playing time. Since it's been two weeks since the B-Mets played, even though he's joining the team Friday in Philadelphia, it's expected Tovar will make his first start on Sunday.
The Binghamton shortstop hit .263 with four homers and 36 RBIs for the B-Mets in 2013.
