Spiedies for the President

A tasty piece of Binghamton may have left with the President Friday afternoon.

The President joked while at BU that he was told he needed to have a spiedie.

Well, it may not have been a joke. The night manager at the Spiedie and Rib Pit on the Vestal Parkway says that the secret service had been in and out earlier during the day, and that later on a man wearing wire came into the shop with an order for three six inch pork sandwiches and three six inch chicken sandwiches.

"We asked him a couple questions. "Who's this going to go to?" "Is this for you?" He said no, all I can tell you is that I'm not the one eating the food. It's going to go somewhere else, and that' pretty much all I can say," said Jordan Klempka the Night Manager of Vestal's Spiedie and Rib Pit.

She said there was no extra pressure making the potential presidential meal because the order came over the phone for someone named "Ben".
