New Ramp Means New Beginning for Johnson City Man
7/30/2013 (Updated 8:35:08 PM)Home is a lot more welcoming for a Johnson City man thanks to a new wheelchair ramp on the side of his house.
The Faith in Action volunteers program celebrated completion of it's 54th residential wheelchair ramp for Bob Gould.
Before the ramp was built, Gould would have to get out of his chair and hoist himself up one stair at a time.
He and his mother couldn't be more grateful for the new addition.
"Well, actually, I won't have to depend on having someone take me to work anymore. I can start riding the bus again, and just getting out of the house by myself, which is a safety concern," said Bob Gould the recipient of the wheelchair ramp.
Tuesday's ramp was the first of three to be built this week. The Faith in Action volunteer group is made up of local teenagers.
