GBFC holds off Red Bulls despite captain's early exit

BINGHAMTON -- Greater Binghamton FC continued its winning ways defeating the New York Red Bulls, 2-1 at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex. It was the first postseason win for the second year GBFC squad and qualified them for Sundays NPSL Northeast Region finals which will be hosted by GBFC.  The time of the match is TBD.

Ten minutes into the game, Pat Thompson started the scoring for GBFC with an assist coming from Jonny Sinclair.  At the 44 minute mark, Armin Budnjo made the score 2-0 with an assist from Bo Jelovac, the NPSL leading scorer. Shortly thereafter, Chris Riley received a red card forcing GBFC to play a man down for the remainder of the game. Just before halftime, during the 2 minute extended time, the Red Bulls Hayden Harr made the score 2-1.  There was no scoring in the second half.
