Volunteers "pinched" in Wednesday to make more than than five thousand pierogis:
All this to help the Sacred Heart Ukrainian Church in Endicott prepare for this weekend's festival which is one of the church's biggest fundraisers.
The festival is this Saturday and Sunday from noon until eight.
Over the past two days twenty men and women spent hours hand-making the pierogis fresh for this weekend.
"Well it's always a pleasure to see the parishners, see them interact, see them enjoy each other's company. They work hard for this and it's also when they come out to the festival they see everyone enjoying their food, it's even a greater joy for them," said Father Teodor Czabala.
450 pounds of potatoes were used to make all of this weekend's pierogis.
